Just 15 minutes from North Conway, New Hampshire you'll find fine lodging at a Bed and Breakfast inn in Fryeburg. “Fryeburg,” he said, “where’s that?”  “Only 10 miles from North Conway," I replied, "right on the state line of New Hampshire and Maine."

Last Minute Specials“The bed and breakfast is also a historic inn.  Admiral Robert E. Peary, who was first to the North Pole in 1909, lived there.”  “Huh,” he said, “very interesting, but Maine - isn't that out of the way?”  “No,” I said. “The inn’s just minutes from all we want to see and do in North Conway and the Mount Washington Valley. Fryeburg's a lovely, quiet historic village and we can easily explore eastern New Hampshire and western Maine, visit the White Mountains and Mount Washington, and even go to the Lakes Region and seacoast.  The best thing is we won’t have to stay somewhere different each night of our vacation.”  “Well, great,” he said.  “You know how I hate packing and unpacking that car.”

“But a B&B … I'm not sure” he said.  “I like my privacy and I'm not sharing a bathroom.”  I laughed.  “Don’t worry,” I said, “it’s kind of like a boutique hotel, quiet, comfortable, relaxing and we’ll definitely have our own bathroom! Its ideal for a romantic getaway! ” He grinned. I thought back to my last visit.  “The innkeepers are friendly and very helpful with anything we'll need. And the inn is big, so you don't have to see anyone else if you don't want to.  As for breakfast - you'll love the food!  Derrek's sweet potato hash is incredible - a real guest favorite - and we also had amazing banana and coconut pancakes!”

I could see he was really warming to the idea.  And we had a wonderful time; the awesome views of Mount Washington and the White Mountains, shopping at North Conway's outlet stores, visiting the Fryeburg Fair, and taking a driving tour of the area’s covered bridges.  We walked down to Fryeburg Academy before breakfast each morning (20 minutes there and back) and even got to a gig at the highly acclaimed Stone Mountain Arts Center.  And the fall foliage was amazing .....!

Like to have your own adventure? Or maybe just a quiet romantic weekend. Whatever your reasons for being in the North Conway and Fryeburg area, come and see what makes a stay with us so special. We look forward to welcoming you!
