Spring is springing, although a bit early…

We’re back from Texas and it seems Maine is trying hard to get into the spring frame of mind. We’ve had days in the upper 60′s and then some spring rain and of course followed by some light snow. However, unlike 2 years ago where we still had 5 feet of snow in the back, we have no more snow left in the yard. I want to clean out the flower beds and make everything look good, but this is Maine and we’re still not out of the woods (as it were) for freezes so the insulating leaves get to stay in place.

So, instead of cleaning flower beds I’m going to brew some beer this weekend. This recipe, my own, called, “Mad Half Hour”, is for the Samuel Adams Longshot contest. Then some more brewing next weekend, an attempt at a Bavarian wiess bier. Also have a few more bits of brewing gear arriving soon (don’t tell Hilary). My dreams of a kegerator are getting closer to reality. And for those that don’t know what a kegerator is, it is a dedicated fridge for my beer.
