OK, OK so we’re behind the ball … a bit!

I know. It’s been an age since Derrek last posted anything, and I’m not blameless either. But the past two months, although not busy for us particularly at the inn here in Fryeburg, have been busy on other fronts. Firstly, we have a brand new website – don’t know if you’ve had a chance to see it, but why not pop-in for a quick look round. Innkeepers with smaller inns like ours have to do as much of the work themselves as possible, so just the website has taken me about a month of intensive labor! We also have a new logo and we’ll be updating all our marketing materials as we get to them. I think we’re getting new coffee mugs too – pewter colored with our new logo!

It seems as though it’s been a long Spring, which we love, but Summer’s coming on and it’s time to plan for vacations. North Conway looks to be abuzz with various things going on all summer, from a Balloon festival this weekend (the large variety with baskets hanging off them) to the regular things like the Bach festival at the end of August. Now all we hope for is good weather. One event that needs it is the annual Fields on the Saco dinner, sponsored by the local farms and featuring 5 of the top chef’s in the Mount Washington Valley, each preparing a course from as many local ingredients as possible. Derrek’s one of the chef’s, so he’s been busy preparing his recipe for the salad course, using hops which seem to be his favorite ingredient recently. The beer brewing is going awfully well …. Anyhow, if want a superb dinner the weekend of August 28th, let us know. I don’t think we’re going to do a formal package, but we’ll be happy to put something together including tickets to the dinner for anyone wanting to come that weekend.
