Flooding on the Saco

This has been an interesting winter thus far. Not that much snow, bizarre temperature fluctuations and recently a bunch of rain. We ended last week with negative temps, -8F on Sat and 2F on Sun. Then up to 50F on mon with rain. This caused the Saco ice dam to shift the river a bit and flood the road between Weston’s farm and Sherman’s farm. On my way to work I thought I should test drive the new camera and see what the river was up to, much to my surprise it was up… a lot! I sent these pictures to the local NBC station and they showed them on the noon broadcast. Then Hilary trumped me and was interviewed (the link is on our facebook page) by channel 13. It looks like the road may be closed for the next week or so, therefore if you’re coming to visit, go via 302 not the East Conway road. Anyway, take a look and see what a raging Saco looks like.
