Breakfast
Served
in our large open kitchen, breakfast is truly
a food lover's delight, with dishes
superbly cooked from fresh local and seasonal ingredients. Thoughtfully presented to tantalise your
eyes and awaken your tastebuds and featuring
both innovative and traditional cuisine from
around the world, you're sure to see something
different but delicious, on the menu each day
of your stay.
Menu items might
include Ginger Pancakes with Pear Sauce served
with New England Maple sausages, traditional
scones from England or Maine Blueberry muffins,
or a Frittata of Prosciutto and Mushrooms alongside
a warm winter fruit soup from Scandinavia. One of our guests' favorites is Derrek's special (and wonderful) baked pears (see left), served with iced Maine blueberries, simply garnished with a sprig of mint from our own herb pots. Of course,
there is always plenty of freshly brewed coffee, a choice of Twinings regular or herbal teas, hot chocolate, and one of our juices of the day.
Afternoon Tea
Breakfast isn't all we serve here. Afternoon Tea is a traditional part of
the British culture and in true British form,
Hilary makes an excellent Tea! This is a great
alternative to dinner for groups of friends or
relatives and it can be served at any time of
year with prior arrangement. Treat yourselves
to mountains of homemade finger sandwiches, scones
and lemon curd, cake and of course a variety
of hot tea. Cold beverages are also available.
Please call us for more information.
Weddings & Get-togethers
Having a small family reunion or wedding?
Then we're happy to prepare a lunch or dinner
buffet for you and your guests. Everything is
made to your order, so pretty much anything goes.
Items have included Chilled Chicken salad, fresh
fruit, Irish Stew, and of course, the ever popular
Chili, all served with vegetables, salads and
a dessert. For something a little different why
not consider a barbeque or cookout if you're
meeting over the summer months.
Inn-to-Inn Cookie Tour
The second weekend in December
sees the annual Inn-to-Inn Cookie tour. Fifteen
local inns, all members of Country
Inns in the White Mountains, get together
to open their doors to visitors coming from near
and far in the quest to find the perfect cookie.
Naturally we do our part and Derrek is frantically
cooking for weeks beforehand preparing only the
finest sweets for our guests. Past cookies have
included chocolate dipped Yeti
Feet and Christmas
Cracker Cookies.
Check out the two videos below - on the left, how we made our award-winning entry for the 2009 Gingerbread competition, and on the right, Hilary demonstrating how to make our Lemon Shortbread with Blueberry Glaze on the Dec 3rd edition of WCSH6's '207' program. Our Maine Fishing village gingerbread won first place as judged by over 350 Cookie Tour guests, and got us a $500 donation for the Conway Area Humane Society!

| We
loved all the special touches; finger
munchies, great desserts, cheese platter
... so much and so yummy. The
turkey and ham were the BEST!
