
The White Mountain National Forest is famous for its hikes and
nature walks, geared for all levels of experience
and fitness. Don't forget to bring sturdy boots, as
many of the trails can be muddy, icy or snowy at any time of
the year!
• Climb Mt Washington or hike part of
the Appalachian Trail from the AMC
Center at Pinkham Notch (experienced)
• Walk the trails from either side of
the "Kanc"
- Kancamagus Highway (varied)
• Climb Mt Chocorua for excellent views
of the lower valley (moderate)
• Experience superb scenery from Evans
Notch (varied)
• Hike Jockey Cap in Fryeburg for vistas
of the surrounding lakes and mountains, as well as a stone pedestal
honoring Robert E. Peary (easy)
