Stone Mountain Arts Center (SMAC) Getaways

Beer Brewing Weekends
Calling all aspiring and current beer brewers out there. Come and join resident chef and brewmaster Derrek, as he conjures up his latest batch of home-brew and demonstrates just how easy it is to make great beer at home. Packages cost $69 per person as an add-on to your room and include 5-hours of instruction, notebook with recipes and helpful hints to get you started, light lunch on the brewing day, a 6-pack of our best Admiral Peary Ale (or similar, subject to availability) to take home and a field trip to our local commercial brewery, Tuckerman’s on the Saturday afternoon. We’ll also include a $20 Gift Certificate to Ebenezer’s Restaurant and Pub, just up the road in Lovell, which has been rated the number one beer bar in America and the world for the last five years in a row by Beer Advocate Magazine!

Ride the Rails
The Mount Washington Valley and its surroundings truly has some of the best train rides in New England. Whether its romance you’re looking for or just an experience that you’ll find nowhere else, hop aboard a "Ride the Rails" package for a unique experience of the past. Enjoy two nights accommodation for two in the room of your choice with full breakfast, then choose one of the following excursions on our historic railways:
- a trip on the Cog Railway which ascends to the 6,288 foot summit of Mount Washington with views from the Atlantic Ocean to Canada,
- a full day’s excursion into the mountains on the Conway Scenic Railroad, with First Class seating on the “Notch Train”, including a box lunch,
- a sunset dinner in the restored Victorian dining car “Chocorua”.
